THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF MAINTENANCE OF THE

Shock and tanks are protected against corrosion. Before mounting as well as a few times a year, especially in winter, it is recommended to wax them using car wax.
Note do not use detergents as they may damage the coating against corrosion.
Each time when a damper is fully compressed, shock absorber shaft is purified using the wiper seal in the housing. Because in most cars is fully rare damper serial compressed on the lower stem are deposited dirt that favor the corrosion and dirt causes damage to shock absorber seal. To prevent this problem, we recommend that you like the most common cleaning rod of shock resulting from dirt. The seals are designed to withstand continuous operating temperature to 90 degrees Celsius. In the case of a wrong selection of shock absorbers or bad settings can lead to damage due to overheating. You can order seals packages working in temperatures of up to 170 degrees Celsius.

    GAS PRESSURE IN THE TANKS

Important! All shock absorbers SX RACING are filled with nitrogen. Nitrogen does not absorb moisture and does not extend under the influence of the temperature increases as the air. Filling air shock leads to their inner corrosion.
All shocks give the purchaser with the appropriate pressure of nitrogen, which is 13.8 bar. This pressure compresses the oil and prevents it from foaming. Pressure change does not change the damping factor but only in a small way the value of the constant spring. Adjustment range is acceptable in terms of +/-3.5 bar! Pressure changes over the specified range may lead to damage or shock absorber improper work. Change settings should be made by changing springs or changing the damping force damper.

    SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

In not rally uses they should work properly for a few years. It is recommended that you check, however, pressure, cleaning the housing and the shaft a few times a year, especially in winter.
Rally service is required in every race!
During the period of warranty the manufacturer overview is required after each start in the rally.

  • How to choose a shock absorber?

Type of shock-what is suitable for Your car rally depends on many factors. His destiny, the weight, the type of suspension as the T2 (springs, leaf springs, torsion bars, etc.), the average speed of travel and the type of terrain and the characteristics of the rally is only a few of them. Do not forget also about marshaling preferences. There are different types of off-road rallies, some defeats are several kilometres with minimal speeds on other tens of kilometers after mega potholes and marathons hundreds of miles with a very high speeds on roads and gravel traces in the dunes of sand. The shock absorbers must provide excellent traction, be able to withstand the high temperatures generated during operation and be able to withstand the forces acting on the suspension. Design of shock absorbers is immensely difficult when we meet with the case when the suspension stroke is limited unnecessarily by structural failures vehicle. We can’t actually suggest how to design the frame and suspension of your vehicles but please follow a few basic rules in the ASSEMBLY, which will help that shock absorbers will be used in full their range of action and in accordance with its intended purpose.

  • Installation

Shock absorber work should be done on straight line track while working the other suspension parts staggers bow. Shock absorbers in racing applications should be mounted so that the closed and open virtually to the end. During the normal work in a rally car-stroke off-road suspension shock absorbers can produce very high temperatures should therefore be mounted away from potential spills of flammable liquids such as fuel or oil! Shock absorbers should be exposed to the direct action of fresh air, which helps in their cooling and if possible isolated from heat emitters such as exhaust, coolers, Turbo. Excessive heat can damage the seals. Shock absorbers and tanks shall be so fitted that under extreme conditions did not work on not any lateral force and not to often took during the work suspension frame components, suspension parts or tires or rims in order to avoid mechanical damage. When clamping screw clamping them should be tanks on their ends, it is unacceptable to their mounting bands through the Centre. Make sure that wires will not rub against any body parts or frame to prevent them from damage. Take special care when welding and grinding. The lack of security could lead to damage to lag the rod snake or the housing. When welding around the shock make sure that mass is connected directly in the vicinity of a welder. If during welding current can flow through the damper there is a high probability of electric arc between the rod rod and other metal parts of the frame. Electric arc, which rise may permanently damage the chrome-coating and destroy the seals the shock absorber. Shock absorbers can be mounted in any position. Installation of our shock absorbers should be carried out in our authorized services SX RACING under pain of loss of warranty.

The shock absorbers are designed so that only suppress the forces which arise during compression and expansion of the suspension. They are not designed to deal with sudden mechanical forces occurring when total compression and expansion over the suspension provided for shock absorber stroke. The shock absorbers are not designed to be resistant to mechanical damage occurring in places of Assembly! It is recommended to use an additional damper tape and limiting the stroke of the wheel and check that during the suspension lock automatically on the shock absorber mounting suspension components!!!

Offer the highest level of attenuation with the ability to determine the characteristics of work in the most demanding off-road conditions. External adjustability allows for an immediate change in the characteristics of the work of the shock absorber in a matter of seconds. It is best to work on vehicles with large spring suspension. Shock absorbers have a number of external tub with valves (depending on the model) that control the oil flow in the various zones (1-6). Not to be confused with adjustable damping force fast and free compression damping where controlled can be only one zone damper work! Length and work zone damper are designed individually to work suspension rally car depending on the application and the type of rally. Therefore, the shock absorbers of the so-called “shelves” are universal and they work universally. They are comfortable while driving small bumps and progressively increase their strength attenuation while driving after more demanding terrain. These dampers are essential to driving fast in rough terrain where we use shock jump from about 20-30 cm.
